There is much speculation about Cody's involvement with the British Army & Marines.
Some say that it had something to do with a secret operation.
Nico van den Berg believes it involved a seperate development.
What we do know is that Cody did do different tests with his Man lifting
  system for the British.Some of the tests were also for the purpose of sending signals to the
  troops.With these signals the troops could then recieve the latest orders.This system for the signaling was pulled across the land by  horses.
